Department of Computing holds PhD student poster event
PhD students, studying both full-time and part-time, had the opportunity to present their latest research results and their plans for future academic work in poster-form.
The collection of posters was displayed within the Department of Computing for the week following the presentation, so that those unable to attend the event could have the opportunity to see them.
Paul Lister, Professor of Computing thanked students and staff for their hard work and attendance at this event, the first of its kind to be held by London Met.
He said: ‘I completely agree with those who suggested we hold similar events twice a year during the Spring and the Autumn term. It is of enormous benefit to the students involved and offers a chance to open up further discussion.’
In addition a Student Feedback and Assessment Workshop was held on 10 April in collaboration with the Higher Education Academy Centre for Information and Computer Sciences.
The day was aimed at academics and educational developers. The programme included presentations from practitioners from many institutions around the UK and attendees were able to discuss ideas and queries with them.
