London Met lecturer teaches summer programme at Konkuk University, Korea

Following successful visits between the two intuitions a London Met Lecturer Parvin Alizadeh travelled to Korea to take part in their International Summer Programme (ISP) at Konkuk University.

The ISP is a one-month long programme that provides a great opportunity for international students wishing to learn about and experience Korea and it’s culture. Professors join the program and teach students from all around the world.

Konkuk’s Seoul Campus comprises 15 colleges and 11 graduate schools, offering a diverse range of subjects. The Choongju Campus consists of 7 colleges and 2 graduate schools. Around 26,000 students from all around the world study at the two campuses

Parvin is a senior lecturer of Economics at London Metropolitan Business School. Her main research interests are in comparative economic development and late industrialization. She has published in Journal of International Development, International Journal of Interdisciplinary Social science, and the Brown Journal of the World Affairs.

Describing her experience of the programme, Parvin said: ‘I had a wonderful summer at KU. It was a very well organized international summer school, which provided a great possibility for academic exchange combined with cultural tourism.’
