Hollywood movie and major LA pilot for London Met graduate
Performing Arts graduate Daniela Ruah is making it big in Hollywood and can currently be found starring in both a major LA pilot series and in a Hollywood movie from the makers of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.
Daniela grew up and started her career in Portugal. She moved to England when she was 18 to do the BA Performing Arts at London Metropolitan University. Graduating with First Class Honors, Daniela returned to Portugal where she was given principal roles in television series, short films and theatre. In 2007 she moved to New York to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and pursue her career.
Daniela stars as Special Agent Kensi Blye in new pilot series NCIS: Los Angeles, a spin-off of the hugely popular NCIS. The show sees a team of highly trained agents working in undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS. Daniela stars alongside LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell, Peter Cambor, Linda Hunt and Adam Jamal Craig.
Whilst the series airs on CBS, Daniela has been busy shooting forthcoming Hollywood blockbuster Red Tails. The film is being produced by Lucasfilm, the team behind the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies and is based on a story by George Lucas. The plot concerns a group of young WWII pilots who formed the Tuskegee Airmen, a distinguished group of fliers who broke the aviation colour barrier to become the first African-American fighter pilots in U.S. military history. Daniela joins a stellar cast led by Cuba Gooding Jr.
