Critical acclaim for Nicholas Tye Architects

A London Met alumnus has received wide spread critical acclaim for the innovative design of his practice’s new studio building.

Committed to creating high-quality, healthy environments, Nicholas Tye Architects have worked on projects from £50,000 - £19 million across a variety of sectors including commercial office developments, residential works, retail outlets, hospitals, restaurants and bars, the arts and educational projects. The team strive for design-led, innovative, sustainable architecture, mixing the unusual with the economical.

The new studio building has recently been awarded seven prestigious awards in the past year along in recognition of its innovative design. The awards include the RIBA National Award 2009, the Campaign for the Rural protection of England) Best Commercial Project 2009, the Design Week Awards Best Commercial Project 2009 and the Creative East Awards Best Workspace Environment 2009.

In addition, the practice has been shortlisted for the Stephen Lawrence Architecture Prize which rewards the best example of a building with a construction budget of less than £1million. The award is the UK's second largest architectural award and is presented to the winning architects alongside the prestigious Stirling Prize.

Nicholas graduated from London Metropolitan University (then the University of North London) with both a BA (Hons) and Professional Diploma in Architecture. His relatively new practice has won numerous awards including 2 RIBA Spirit of Ingenuity Awards. Nicolas Tye Architects have been written about in various publications and the practice continues to grow in size, stature and attainment.
