A study organised by London Metropolitan University and BRRB, a market research agency, has looked into attitudes towards older members of staff in schools. It found that Headteachers were wary of allowing teacher’s approaching retirement age to ‘wind down’ their careers and that older teachers were seen as more costly than newly qualified staff.

London Metropolitan University’s Architecture Research Unit, led by Florian Beigal and Philip Christou has made the shortlist in a competition to design a South Korean coastal city. Of the seven teams chosen only two will go forward to develop their ideas further.
