An article on a thesis written by an academic at Glasgow University, which described sex between adults and children as sometimes positive. Including a comment by Professor Liz Kelly, director of the University's child and woman abuse studies unit, in which she states that her research found that the majority of people who had intercourse with an adult when they were a child regarded it negatively.

Machinery Market 2 December
A short piece stating that Akanksha Awal, an electronics and communication engineering student at London Met, has received a Ford WISE prize at the young women engineer of the year award ceremony in London.

Islington Tribune 3 December
A piece on Islington’s summer university, stating that more than 200 young people were presented with a certificate at London Met.

The Times Higher Education Supplement 3 December
News that Leeds Metropolitan University and Bradford University will charge lower fees for undergraduates. London Met may also lower fees, and the article states that the University has a record for widening participation that ought to deter those who might make an issue of bursaries.

Architects’ Journal 9 December
A long article on the RIBA president’s medals awards 2004. Ulla Tervo from London Met won the bronze medal and the Serjeant award for drawing for her plan for a secondary school in London Fields. Another London Met student, Adam Khan, won the commendation silver medal for his plan for a condemned industrial estate in Peckham. David Grandorge, lecturer in the department of architecture and spatial design, won the tutor prize.
