Welcome and welcome back to London Met

Welcome Week - the start of a new academic year

Date: 04/10/2016

Last week saw the return of our students and we welcomed new ones. It all kicked off with a treasure hunt at Moorgate, where our students filled the corridors, stairs and classrooms searching for the answers. As our fresher's treat, we took our students on a London bus scenic tour with a twist; music on the bus plus some amazing facts about London including our favourite: “the Queen has to ask permission to enter the City of London!” Everyone on the bus gasped with shock.

The Dean, Dr Simon Jones welcomed our second and third-year students to their next academic year. Dr Jones shared his inspirational story as a student and graduate of London Met. The students also benefited from a welcome from Dr Jan Bamford, Head of student Experience as well as an introduction to dissertation writings from Dr Ann Kennedy, Course Manager for Business Management.

Vanessa Airth, who coordinated the event said: “Welcome Week gives students time to get used to the uni, their course and classmates before they start their official lectures. Many students said how much fun they had and enjoyed the social events."

London Met wishes all of our students a great and a successful academic year in 2016/17.
