BA Jewellery and Silversmithing graduate Sara Gunn is celebrating after winning a space in the UK’s only business incubator dedicated to jewellery designers.

Sara, who studied in the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University, beat tough competition to win the Cockpit Arts / Clear Insurance Award, which provides studio space and support to help designers grow their businesses. The prize, which also includes a comprehensive Clear Insurance package to cover exports, is worth £2,500.

“I'm absolutely delighted to have won a studio at Cockpit”, said Sara. “Winning the award means I will have a space to develop my collections and can invest in much-needed equipment. Until now I have been designing and making from a small workshop at home and from shared workshop spaces. Having a studio space of my own will make it possible to develop and make my designs far more efficiently, as well as building closer links with suppliers and industry contacts.”
