The Insight team discussed the new technologies in aviation, in particular the rise in customers booking and organising their trips abroad via their mobile phone applications. Ninety percent of airports are undertaking a major programme or trial projects related to apps.

Another development was Google's release of ‘Google trips’ this week. As described by the company, “Google Trips makes exploring the world easier by organizing your essential info in one place and making it available even offline. Get activity suggestions based on what’s nearby, customizable day plans and your travel reservations from Gmail.”

Nick provided his expert academic commentary on Insight, saying that it was important the Aviation industry moves forward with adopting new technology and ways to make the travel easier for their customer. He said, “it provides convenience, it addresses tailored needs and disseminates information faster.”
