Economics
BA (Hons) International Business
This degree provides you with a grounding in business education focusing on international business activity. It will help you to acquire an in-depth understanding of specific features in organisations, from management processes to the external environments in which international businesses operate. It will explain the part played by international business in the global economy. There are many optional modules including the opportunity to study foreign languages. The Department has a strong research base and a thriving alumni community that maintains links with employers and City institutions.
Course structure
For Single Honours you take eight modules at each level. Joint Honours involves four modules from each level in International Business, plus four from your other subject. You may also choose a Major/Minor combination after level 1.
Level 1 prepares you for higher education-level study, introducing key topics and helping you to gain an overview of your subject.

- Accounting for Business
Level 2 increasingly addresses issues related to employability and professional practice.

- Organisation and Management
Level 3 further develops your skills in problem identification and analysis, typically through a project or equivalent.

- Cross Cultural Management
- Multinational Business in Japan and SE Asia
- International Marketing
- Multinational Finance and Accounting
- Issues in the International Economy

Teaching, learning and assessment
Methods include lectures, seminars, group work, presentations, written exams, essays, reports and projects.

Most graduates have found career success in either domestic or foreign companies. Many have also progressed to postgraduate study.
Professional accreditation/exemption
Exemptions from examinations of major professional bodies in accounting, marketing and personnel management may be obtained.
