BSc (Hons) Financial Economics
This degree provides you with a detailed knowledge of the economics of finance and financial markets. It combines economic methods, quantitative techniques and up-to-date financial analysis to give you a strong background from which to pursue a career in finance. You will develop your ability to use economic analysis and in your final year you complete a project. You can also choose to specialise, through a wide range of optional modules. The School has a strong research base and a thriving alumni community that helps maintain links with employers and City institutions.
Three levels, each of 120 credits. If you take a Joint you study each subject for 60 credits at each level.

All LMBS undergraduate degree programmes offer an optional, 12-month professional work placement, normally taken after the first two years of study. The placement year offers students the opportunity to gain an additional 30 credits at degree level and valuable graduate level work experience Additionally it provides students with an internationally recognised City and Guilds Licentiateship Award and eligibility for membership of The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
Career opportunities
A wide range of career opportunities are opened up by this course. Graduates obtain employment in well known financial institutions, investment banks and global financial corporations. Other graduates are employed in analyst and management posts in companies and public organisations.

Click here for the University's standard entry requirements. In addition, we normally require 200 UCAS points from two or more A-Levels or equivalent. You should also have GCSE grade C or better, or equivalent, in English Language and Mathematics.
If you have previous academic or work-based qualifications, achievement or appropriate experience you may be exempted from part of the course. Direct entry into Level 2 and, exceptionally, Level 3, could also be considered.
