BA (Hons) Economics
Aiming to provide you with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of methods, theory and application in Economics, this course develops your ability to use economic reasoning in a variety of contexts. You will be examining a range of business and policy-related issues in economics and applying economic analysis to a wide range of important questions. There is a wide range of optional modules. The Department has a strong research base and a thriving alumni community that helps maintain links with employers and City institutions. The course also develops your employability skills in business.
Three levels, each of 120 credits. If you take a Joint you study each subject for 60 credits at each level.

All LMBS undergraduate degree programmes offer an optional, 12-month professional work placement, normally taken after the first two years of study. The placement year offers students the opportunity to gain an additional 30 credits at degree level and valuable graduate level work experience Additionally it provides students with an internationally recognised City and Guilds Licentiateship Award and eligibility for membership of The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
Career opportunities
A wide range of career opportunities are opened up by this course. Graduates obtain employment in well-known international companies, global financial corporations, or public sector organisations as Accounts Assistants, Export Managers, Financial Advisors, Consultants and Entrepreneurs. A sizeable proportion also progress to postgraduate study.

Click here for the University's standard entry requirements. You should also have 200 points from two or more A-levels. You should have GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English Language and Maths.
If you have prior academic or work-based qualifications, achievement or relevant experience you may be exempt from part of the course. Direct entry into level 2/3 could be considered.
