Economics
BA (Hons) Business Economics and Finance
This is a contemporary course relevant to careers in business, management and professional economics, providing opportunities to examine the national and international dimensions of business activities and organisations. With the emphasis on quantitative and computer-based skills, you will develop an understanding of the key areas of economics, including international trade, global financial markets and the sources of economic growth.
Course structure
Three levels, each of 120 credits.

Optional Professional Placement Year with additional Professional Accreditation
All LMBS undergraduate degree programmes offer an optional, 12-month professional work placement, normally taken after the first two years of study. The placement year offers students the opportunity to gain an additional 30 credits at degree level and valuable graduate level work experience Additionally it provides students with an internationally recognised City and Guilds Licentiateship Award and eligibility for membership of The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

Career opportunities
A wide range of career opportunities and postgraduate study options are opened up by this course, such as public and private sector management, banking and economic research. Graduates are also working in areas such as investment banking, economic forecasting and industry analysis. Graduates have found work in roles such as Compliance Officer, Administrator and Manager with companies such as King George's Hospital, M Solutions and Finance and Merchant Charcoal.
