brief biography

Nicole Ferdinand is a lecturer, researcher and practitioner, specialising in Cultural Event Marketing, Festival and Events Tourism and Festival Internationalisation. Prior to joining the London Metropolitan Business School (LMBS), Nicole worked as an event manager and consultant in the Caribbean for five years. She also spent two years managing a programme aimed at developing entrepreneurship in Trinidad and Tobago's cultural sector.

Nicole holds advisory board positions for a number of academic conferences, including Londonicity: The Annual London Studies Conference and Understanding Britain: The Annual British Studies Conference. She has been Editor of the London Journal of Tourism, Sport and Creative Industries since 2009 and has just completed work on a major edited book on Events Management published by SAGE publications.
