Our wide range of HRM courses are designed to meet the needs of those working in the private, public and voluntary sectors. LMBS provides a wide range of high quality courses in the field of Human Resource Management, at undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and research levels.
Our HRM programmes provide graduate or licentiate membership of the professional body, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
The Management courses at LMBS have been designed to meet the needs of local, regional and international businesses, helping them to remain competitive in the global economy. Hence, our HRM courses focus on practical issues relating them to broader management, organisation and employment areas, as well as rigorous intellectual analysis.
Academics from the HRM area have a particularly strong research
profile. Professor Yochanan Altman is professor of International Human
Resource Management and editor of the Journal of Managerial psychology.
Professor Steve Jeffrey is Professor of European Industrial Relations
and Director of the Working Lives Institute. Professor John Walton is
Professor of Human Resource Management and course Director of the MA in
Human Resource Strategies. Staff are engaged in many different projects
and their research interests include comparative organisation and
equality research, cross-cultural management, ethnic minority
entrepreneurship and management styles and careers of men and women.
Our five libraries offer the latest in learning technologies, with
all the major practitioner and academic journals and electronic
databases, online services and private study areas, access to PCs and
well-equipped teaching rooms.
