Our academic staff are excellent teachers and researchers who are also down-to-earth, friendly and approachable. Many of our staff are individually recognised in the UK and internationally for their excellence in teaching and course delivery. Staff, are supported by research assistants, and complemented by external consultants who are usually senior professionals working in business in the City of London.

Subject Experts

We are strong in research and we continually seek to integrate research into our teaching to bring the latest thinking to our students. Staff are experts who operate at the frontier of their subjects and deliver cutting-edge material from both theory and practice. An important part of our Mission is to enthuse and to motivate students, including those who are new to economics.

Teaching Innovation

Economics was awarded a prestigious UK National Teaching Fellowship (£50,000) , and is currently working on a project evaluating the effectiveness of using case studies in teaching. Economics staff have also been awarded a number of grants to support the development of learning and teaching funded by the UK Economics Network.
