brief biography
Before joining the University in February 2009, Helen obtained her Phd in Economics from the University of Essex in 2008. Her thesis examined the macroeconomic impact of government policy on the informal sector in Nigeria. In September 2009, Helen presented a paper entitled "Accounting for the Size of the Informal Sector in Nigeria" at a conference organised the Economic Society of South Africa.
