brief biography
Barry Harper leads the Economics Subject Group, which is one of the largest Economics departments/groups in the UK, and includes around 30 full-time academic staff, including 10 professors, academic leaders and principal lectures. Barry also established the London Financial Academy, part of London Metropolitan University, which offers training and short courses for the financial services industry. He has published in leading academic journals including Oxford Economic Papers and Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics on labour market economics. His work on beauty, height and earnings has been covered by leading newspapers worldwide including The Economist. Barry has held academic posts at Warwick University and City University.

Barry established the London Financial Academy (LFA), which is a leading provider of financial and professional training in finance, regulation and compliance.
