To promote research we lead the major new Centre for International Business and Sustainability and support the Centre for International Capital Markets, two University research centres which co-ordinate and develop research expertise in economics, international business and finance. Read more.

Internationally Recognised

A large proportion of the subject group's research is published in highly rated academic journals and is also presented at international conferences, supporting the group's target of maintaining a high international research profile. The emphasis is on combining theoretical and empirical analysis that addresses significant policy issues and also topics of direct relevance to business and financial institutions.

Our Research

The UK Government's Research Assessment Exercise assesses the quality of research in Universities and Colleges in the UK. In research the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise put the Department in the top 25% of UK Universities for Economics, alongside other major Universities also highly regarded in research. Our discussion paper series presents our latest research, and research prior to journal publication.
