LMBS' subject group of Accounting and Business Law contains one of the largest Accounting Departments in the UK. It has over fifty teaching and support staff and over 1,500 students. We have a growing reputation for courses at the interface of Information Technology with Business and Accounting.

We offer a full range of courses from Foundation and HND, through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, to research students. All our courses are vocationally relevant yet at the same time provide an intellectual challenge.

The emphasis of the courses is on vocational relevance, particularly with regard to employment in the accounting profession and in the City of London. Great importance is placed on the acquisition of skills, both subject specific and generic, with the aim of maximising relevant, high quality employment.

We have important areas of expertise in accounting information systems, forensic accounting and taxation.

The subject group is housed at City Campus in Moorgate and at North Campus in Stapleton House. Although teaching mainly takes place in these buildings some large lectures and some specialist classes have to take place in other university buildings. Accommodation and facilities for students at each site include lecture theatres, seminar rooms, IT laboratories, libraries, administrative and student support facilities and refreshment services.
