INTRODUCTION

COERC is an accredited University research centre which adopts an interdisciplinary approach to research and consultancy in the areas of employment and work organisation, human resource management, employment relations, learning and development, equality, diversity and employment law.

The Centre brings together staff from a range of disciplines within London Metropolitan Business School (LMBS) and works closely with staff within the Working Lives Research Institute and the Institute for the Study of European Transformations. This brings a powerful mix of ideas and experience together, creating a productive community within which we may consider and debate the impact of globalisation, equality, human rights and social justice, development, public policy, sustainability and corporate social responsibility alongside more conventional HRM concerns of motivation, engagement, talent management, productivity, reward, flexibility, management and work organisation. 

We have strong links with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a number of our postgraduate HRM courses are accredited by the CIPD:

MA Human Resource and Employment Management (MAHREM)

MA Human Resource Management (MAHRM)

Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM)

COERC members teach on a wide range of undergraduate organisation, HRM, cross-cultural, employee relations and employment law modules as well as on postgraduate courses including the MBA, MA Equality and Diversity, MA International HRM and the MA International Business.

Two of the University specialist library collections, the TUC Library Collection and the Women’s Library provide positive assets for research.

COERC members are also involved in the supervision of full and part-time research students. Applications for MPhil/PhD study are welcomed.
