The Centre for Micro Enterprise (CME) is responsible for running projects and training for owners of micro-enterprises and aspiring entrepreneurs. The Centre particularly focuses on assisting women and older entrepreneurs. CME’s pioneering work is delivered by an academic project director together with a core team of four self-employed experts who each manage their own businesses.
For seven years CME has been playing a key role in assisting women to be more successful in their enterprises, grow their businesses and play a vital role in the economy. The Centre’s activities focus on the Greater London area and nationwide, including pioneering projects such as the ‘ESF funded Forward at 50’ series.
In 2010 CME launched a new project for 50+ women, OWLE50+, funded by EU Grundtvig.

Linda Irvine, owner of Shiftdress.co.uk, and some of the April 2009 Enterprise on Track course completers.
This expertise and methodology, which has helped 650 businesses start-up, is informing new projects to address the recession and meet the demand for enterprise training from many sectors and age groups. Reports are available on CME’s work with women. Read more
