Businesses around the world face challenges that defy conventional approaches. With average world temperatures rising, the supply of natural resources squeezed by economic development, and public policy in flux, "business as usual" is unlikely. New thinking is needed. The Centre of International Business and Sustainability (CIBS) contributes a distinctive voice to that effort, bringing together researchers and educators from economics, policy analysis, strategy and ethics to explore together what we call the 'Climate Change World'.

Formed in 2008 as an interdisciplinary research centre at London Metropolitan Business School, CIBS and its members work with collaborators in other institutions to examine the Climate Change World and its interrelated issues and responses.

  • Climate change over the long run;
  • Energy sources and security;
  • Food and water sources and security;
  • Demography, migration, and urbanization;
  • The degradation of natural resources;
  • The emergence of regulatory regimes;
  • Diffusion of new technologies to address these issues; and
  • The adaptability of business to climate-induced change.
