Research Institutes & Centres

There are a number of research centres and units embedded within academic departments and research institutes across the University. These centres and units exist to promote the research activities of members of staff working in areas of strategic importance for London Metropolitan University. They will normally have a direct relevance to postgraduate and undergraduate taught provision as well as contributing to the research environment within which our research degree students work.

There are also special research interest groups:

Research institutes
are large, semi-autonomous units, each of which pursues thematically related academic and policy research in their chosen area. Several of the Institutes are multidisciplinary, related disciplines being brought together to address major social, scientific, technological or policy-related issues in a vibrant and challenging intellectual environment.
