Entry requirements

For specific entry requirements contact the Course Leader.

Course structure

The course is broken into three levels:

  • Professional Certificate
  • Professional Diploma
  • Chartered Professional Postgraduate Diploma

Your entry level is determined by your academic qualifications and experience and therefore it is not always necessary to commence your studies at the Professional Certificate level. However, at whatever level you commence your studies, you must complete and pass all the modules for that level to receive the award.

Professional Certificate in Marketing:

The four subjects to be studied are:
  • Marketing Essentials
  • Assessing the Marketing Environment
  • Marketing Information and Research
  • Stakeholder Marketing
Professional Diploma in Marketing:

Applicants with a marketing degree (minimum of one third credits to come from marketing), or the Professional Certificate can go directly to the Professional Diploma level. Alternatively, if the student has experience in marketing management and they can demonstrate that they can meet the learning outcomes, they can also join at Diploma Level.

The four subjects to be studied are:

  • Marketing Planning Process
  • Delivering Customer Value Through Marketing
  • Project Management for Marketing
  • Managing Marketing
Chartered Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing:

This course consists of two stages: successful completion of Stage 1 confers the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing whilst Stage 2 confers the Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Usually students commence at Stage 1.

Students who want to study at this level must have completed the Professional Diploma or have a business or marketing Bachelors or Masters degree (where a minimum of half the credits come from marketing) and a range of experience working at Senior Marketing Management level.

Stage 1 - The four subjects to be studied are:

  • Emerging themes
  • Analysis and Decision

  • Managing Corporate Reputation

Stage 2 - It is expected that this should be available to study from September 2010.
