The Department offers two courses at foundation level: the Foundation Year Art, Media & Design and the International Foundation Programme in Art & Design. Both prepare students for degree level study in a very broad range of subjects.
We also offer the National Certificate in Polymer Technology, a distance learning course taught through the London Metropolitan Polymer Centre.
Foundation Year - Art, Media & Design
This Foundation Year in Art, Media & Design, is the first year (or year 0) of a 4-year extended programme of undergraduate studies at The Cass ( The Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design). A foundation year offers the opportunity to enter university twelve months earlier than by the customary route. It provides the chance to engage, explore and experiment with a diverse range of art, media and design subjects. Students build up a portfolio of skills and experience sufficient to guarantee progress to whichever of our twenty-eight degree courses is most appropriate to their needs and aspirations.
