Internships and volunteering

All students intending to do an internship or to volunteer  must have a Tier 4 PBS visa. See visas for study abroad students for more information.

Internships

The Career Development and Employment Service coordinates Internship placements for Study Abroad students.  Please note that there is a fee for this service.

We usually expect students to count the internship as one of their 4 modules of study, as most students are working towards internship credit at their home university.

Students are expected to complete 1-2 days each week at the internship site and undertaking this as a 5th module is a heavy workload.

Volunteering

Reach (part of the Student Development and Activities Service) provides activities for staff and students that include voluntary work, career mentoring, peer support and skills training.

Volunteering can be a great way to get involved in the local community, develop your personal skills and simply have fun.
