The JYA is in two parts:
PART 1 consists of two classes which are;
1. English Class (15 hrs p/w)
- Fluency practise and conversation
- Letter and short report writing
- Reading and comprehension
- Discussion groups and presentations
- Listening practise
2. British Culture Class (3 hrs p/w)
- British literature
- Popular culture
- Visits to the theatre
- Visits to museums
PART 2 consists of four classes
1. English Class (3 hrs p/w)
- Reading and writing
- Listening and speaking
2. Academic English Class (3 hrs p/w)
- Essay writing and report styles
- Research and self study skills
- Understanding lectures
- Academic presentations
3. Subject Class
- Choose from 50 foundation classes from 6 areas
- Choose from 677 undergraduate classes from 12 areas
4. Subject Class
- Choose from 50 foundation classes from 6 areas
- Choose from 677 undergraduate classes from 12 areas
