London Metropolitan University celebrates 10 years of successful partnership with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Date: 06 December 2013
London Metropolitan University and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine recently celebrated 10 years of working together in successful partnership.

Vice Chancellor Professor Malcolm Gillies says "I am proud and pleased to congratulate Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on ten years of successful partnership with our University, London Metropolitan University.

International cooperation is of great importance to all Universities, and I am particularly proud of this partnership, which has enabled both our Universities to strengthen and grow our academic programmes in Traditional Chinese Medicine and in Herbal Medicinal Chemistry, and, through that, to educate and inspire many hundreds of students.

International cooperation with the People's Republic of China, and with prestigious and forward looking institutions such as Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is of great importance to London Metropolitan University as it enables our staff and our students to understand and experience contemporary China, and to learn from Chinese approaches to pharmaceutical science, medicine and complementary therapy.   The partnership has led to a significant amount of staff and student exchange over the years between our two institutions, and to the development of research expertise, academic knowledge and a true sharing of ideas.

That our cooperation has achieved such high regard within China itself is of immense pride to us, and is testament to the diligence, hard work and support of all staff involved in this excellent partnership.

I should like to wish everyone involved in this exemplary project all the best for our continued cooperation and exchange."
