"I'm from Sweden and I've been playing basketball since I was
seven. I played in Sweden until I was 21. When I was 23 I played
professionally for a club in Belgium. I then came to London and played
for a national 1 team for one season, then in 2005 I was poached to
play for London Met's Women Basketball team. As my father is Egyptian,
I played for the Egyptian national team in the Juniors and I hope to
play with the team in the forthcoming African tournaments in the
Autumn.
I have been interested in helping children and young people since I was young and I enjoy working with people. In an ideal world I would like to work with youth offenders and helping them to get more involved in society. In my free time I enjoy oil painting and I like to do portraits and landscapes. I also like R&B and Hip hop and I like some classical music, too.
I love London Met and live on North campus and study at City campus.
We are very fortunate here in that there are many really good
professors who are always around to help and will spend time with you.
I am really grateful that I got a scholarship to study at London Met
and play for the Women's Basketball team and we are ranked first place
in BUSA Southern Region and we're now in the Premier League.
I speak Arabic, Finnish, Swedish and English and I love learning
languages. I would like to start a business of my own, in the future,
helping orphaned children and bridge the cultural gap between the rich
and the poor, as everyone has something to offer."
