"When I completed high school, I began a Bachelors degree course in Tourism and Recreation at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw in 2002. I was awarded an academic scholarship and at the end of my Bachelors degree, I had achieved a cumulative 4.75 (out of 5). When I completed the undergraduate degree, I continued onto my Masters at the Academy of Physical Education and completed one year of my course (which I will return to on completion of my Masters here).

In 2006 when I was playing in the European women’s tennis championships in Rouen, in France, by chance, I met Kostas, the London Met tennis coach who asked me if I would be interested in coming to London to study and play tennis for the London Met Women’s tennis team and I jumped at the chance. I believe that studying International Business will compliment my Tourism background well and I’d heard some very good things about the International Business Masters course at London Met so I applied and was awarded a The Katrina Mihaere scholarship (sports).

I became passionate about playing tennis when I was about nine years old. My father was a 400m hurdles running athlete and he also ran a tennis school for children in Warsaw. He inspired me to play tennis, which I love and have always loved. I was the three times Polish champion (under 21s) and Bronze medallist in the Polish championships (Senior) and 3 times Silver medallist (in doubles), as well. In March 2007, London Met won the Women’s Tennis UK BUSA championships in Sterling, Scotland, for the second time, and as the Captain of the team, I am very happy and proud of this great achievement.

I have had some work experience teaching children and adults tennis and I have also had an internship in the Marketing department of Osram in Poland.

I am enjoying my course here at London Met as there are other Polish players on the team, as well. The course is very interesting and I really like the fact that there are so many people from all over the world. We can also learn so much about other people’s cultures, as well, which is an additional learning curve I really enjoy.

I love tennis and as it is in my blood I will always play tennis. I hope to get some work experience in my field of Tourism and Business. I want to find a job travelling, meeting new people and having new challenges and with plenty of diversity."
