President Bolashak Scholarship
"As soon as I finished high school (I was a gold medal candidate), I applied for the President Bolashak scholarship. I started to do a BSc in Business Administration at Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic research (KIMEP) and in my first semester I was advised that I had been awarded the scholarship. I was always interested in Interior Design, so when I got the scholarship I learned that London Metropolitan University has the largest number of degrees in Interior Design and I applied here. I will finish the foundation course in the summer of 2007 and start the Interior Design bachelor degree course in September.
I really enjoy my studies here because it is a very interesting University. The Lecturers advise you well, they have time to spend with you, they help you, and we have a variety of modules to take and it is never boring.
I was thrilled to get the President Bolashak scholarship because I
wanted to make my parents very proud of me and they are. I studied
English from the age of 13 to 17 and then I did my IELTS as part of the
scholarship process and I passed.
In my spare time I enjoy visiting the many art galleries and museums, listening to music, reading art books and shopping, and there are plenty of good shops to check out in London!
In the future I would like to develop and improve Kazakhstan with my skills. We have a young developing country in need of good interior design skills. Bolashak means future in Kazakh, and we are the future of our country and we all want to do our best to make it a fantastic place."
