Hazera Khanam

In September 2006, Hazera Khanam, started her BA degree in International Relations at London Metropolitan University on a full scholarship jointly awarded by London Met and by Education International Belgium (EIB).

Hazera is from Cox's Bazar in southern Bangladesh. Throughout her school life she has taken part in the activities of EIB in Cox's Bazar.

EIB runs an after school and education club for girls from poor families in Cox's Bazar, a seaside town in the south of Bangladesh, known for having the longest sea beach in the world. At EIB the girls learn English, self-confidence, Taekwondo and are given encouragement and support with their school work.

"I'm really pleased to have been awarded a scholarship to study at London Met and will do my best to return to my country and make improvements on completion".

Hazera has a black belt in Taekwondo and has competed many times. She scored excellent results in her SSC and HSC exams in Bangladesh and has an excellent command of English.
