I am Anowar Hossain from Bangladesh. I took my BSc (Hons) Computing and Information Systems from London Metropolitan University through their external programme, at Daffodil Institute of IT in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and then came to the University to study MSc Information Systems Development in 2006.

After my high school, I wanted a good, internationally relevant technical course which is why I chose to the NCC programme rather than going to University in my home country. It was a good decision; in my first year (IDCS) I was awarded the Regional High Achiever Award for the highest NCC Education grade in IDCS throughout the Middle East Region in March 2003, and I achieved my International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies from NCC Education, UK where I scored a record achievement of all Distinctions in December 2004 and I was selected as the NCC Roll of Honour student for getting higher than 80% marks.

I graduated top of my class, and in fact top in my country, with a First Class degree, which helped me to win a scholarship to London Met for my MSc.

I completed my MSc with an overall Distinction grade, and achieved more than 80% marks throughout. I found London Met to be a very friendly environment; all the lecturers are not only highly qualified, they are also friendly and helpful as well. There are various students studying in London from several nations, therefore I personally believe that London Met provides the opportunity to have multicultural environment.

I am now working as Development Manager at WECSoft Ltd (www.wecsoft.com). Its a small company and I am leading on all their technical and web-based developments, winning software contracts globally. Prior to this job I was a Senior Front-end Developer with Autoquake, and before that I was a Developer at London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

In my job, I am mainly focusing on front-end using Tridion as a web content management system, writing the technical specifications and managing a team of developers. I have to have a good understanding of all the technical aspects, but to be honest being able to talk to clients is now as important as my technical skills.
