1st Sep, 2007 is the luckiest day of my life, when I
heard that I was awarded with ‘Dr. Mohammad
Shahidullah Scholarship’ from
London
Metropolitan
University
for MSc degree in my chosen field (MSc Software
Engineering). It was not only a scholarship but also by the name
of an honourable person of
Bangladesh which
turned around my life with a BIG change.
About me, I had spent my childhood inJeddah,Saudi Arabia and completed my
secondary school at
Bangladesh
Embassy
High School and
College, Jeddah. During my study period there I had developed
the ambition for computing and information technology. I then went toDhaka,Bangladesh
and completed my Higher Secondary School Certificate
atSiddheswari
College
and decided to study BSc Honors in Computing &
Information Systems

(BCIS) at the
London
Metropolitan
University through the
external campus of Daffodil Institute of Information Technology. I have achieved 1st class in BSc (Hons.) in Computing &
Information Systems (BCIS) with highest point of 120 out of 128. In that year,
I was awarded the DIIT (Daffodil Institute of IT)
'Best Performance Award' for excellent performance in BCIS. As part of BCIS, I
had got my International Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies
from the NCC Education-UK and my record of achievement was all distinctions in
2004 and was selected as the ‘NCC Roll of Honours student. After the completion
of my Graduation I worked as a Lecturer at DIIT for two years.
My favorite games are Karate and football. I had achieved gold medal two times in International Karate
Championship at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a gold medal in ‘All Karate do
Championship-Shitu Ryo’ at Dhaka, Bangladesh and a bronze medal in ‘Asian
International Karate -do Championship’ at Yuba Bharati
Krirangan, Kalkatha, India. I love watching movies, listening music and reading
novels though now a day’s it’s very difficult to find time for
novels.
Now, I am working as a ‘Prototype Analyst/Developer’ in a company
of London named Electronic Shipping Solutions where I am analysing the business
process of the oil shipping companies and primary requirements of their web based application to transfer their documents
electronically worldwide. I want to promote my career to a system analyst and want to facilitate large
organizations to run their business smoothly by using computer application
tools

When I came toLondon for my
masters and met a friendly community of international
students at the north
London campus,
it was revitalizing to find people like me here as it helped in acclimatizing
faster. The lecturers here are very friendly, helpful and are the best in their
research fields; this was an advantage in developing and improving my research
skills also. At the time of my MSc dissertation I have got a wonderful online
help form ACM digital library and other
popular websites where I have got great access to research papers, books,
journals and publications for my research on ‘Online Small Group Collaborative Learning Environment Systems’.

University has a
department called Career Development and Employment Service (CDES) which
facilitate students to get job after completion of their graduate. They
assisted me in preparing my CV which helps me to get my first dream job.
Lastly I would like to give a BIG thanks to my best friend, Farmin Hamid Choudhury (Zeenia), who
encouraged me from the beginning to achieve this honour, my Abbu & Amma, Mohammed Ajmal Ali & Fathema Begum, who gave their entire endeavour
towards me to success in life.
