"I came to the UK in 2000 and I did my GCSEs and 'A' levels in London, as my parents were working here. For my 'A' levels I studied Business studies, English Literature, Media and Spanish and I worked hard and got three 'A's and a 'B'. At this point, I decided I wanted to go on to university and get my BA in Business Studies.
I applied to study at London Met as it had the course I wanted and was in London where I wanted to study. As I also needed financial assistance, I applied for a scholarship to continue my studies in the UK and I was very lucky to be awarded a scholarship from London Met, thanks to the excellent grades I'd got in my 'A' levels.

I am in my placement year and am working in an online marketing company. I work for a tour operator who specialises in organising travel to The Caribbean, Cuba, Egypt and other exotic destinations. One of the duties I have is that I track the online stats (something else I learned at London Met!) and monitor the company's promotions via the website clicks and links. I really enjoy working in Marketing and PR as I enjoy contact with people and also like the tourism industry.

Another thing London Met has that is great are all the Clubs and Societies available for students to join. In my spare time, last year I joined the University Drama Society where we rehearsed every night for two hours. We put on The Chalk Circle and I had one main role and three smaller roles in this production. I enjoyed my involvement in the Drama Society very much and it also helped me to improve my communication and theatre skills that are useful in all aspects of life.

In the future, I hope to do really well in my final year and then find a job in Marketing or PR when I graduate. I have acquired so many excellent skills and much knowledge whilst studying here at London Met which is really helping me in my education and career prospects.

I really love London Met as it is a very friendly environment with interesting students from all over the world. The lecturers are very good, to the point and also, very thorough. Plus, outside the Academic world at University, there are so many ways to enjoy University life. I've really enjoyed my time at London Met and am grateful for having had the opportunity to study in the fantastic city of London here at London Met."
