College of Ethnic Studies courses are a speciality of SFSU. Good for American Studies students. We also have particular links in Design and Psychology.

Immigration information
Students going to SFSU have J1 visa status.
Please visit the US Department of State website for more information about the US Visa services, application process and fees. Read carefully the information about application fees and SEVIS fees, these are your responsibility.
All exchange visitor applicants must have a SEVIS generated DS 2019 issued by a Department of State designated sponsor, which they submit when they are applying for their exchange visitor visa. This will be sent to you by SFSU if you meet all the application requirements.

Once you have been nominated by London Metropolitan University you will be given the application packet to complete.
Language Requirement: waived for London Metropolitan University exchange students
London Met Application Deadline: 1 March
SFSU Application Deadline: 1 April

Arrival and orientation
The SF State international exchange student orientation is a 5-day program mandated by the US government according to the J-1 visa requirements. Students are REQUIRED to attend each day of the orientation.
