Housing

All full-time students of the University are assigned to Halls of Residence. When applying for admission, students must indicatetheir Hall preference. Assignment to a Hall does not mean that a student is offered residence. Only full-time students of the University are eligible to apply for accommodation on Campus and only a small percentage of those applying can be housed, as space is limited. Off-Campus accommodation can also be arranged.

Nationals of CARICOM countries as well as citizens of all Commonwealth Countries are allowed entry to Jamaica without a student visa.
Citizens of non-Commonwealth Countries must obtain a valid student visa prior to entry into Jamaica. Such persons should make their request at the nearest Jamaican Diplomatic Mission or Consulate.
After registration week, a list of all non-Jamaican students who are citizens of Commonwealth Nations will be sent to the Immigration Office to enable these students to obtain permits.

Application information
Once you have been nominated by London Metropolitan University you will be given a UWI application form to complete. You are required to send with this the following: transcript, statement of purpose, 2 academic references, birth certificate.
Language Requirement:
London Met Application Deadline: 1 March and 15 September
UWI Application Deadline: March 31 for Semester 1 and October 31 for Semester 2.
Health Insurance
Students are advised to purchase health insurance before arrival.
Arrival and orientation
Upon arrival and after Immigration and Customs clearance, proceed to the exit where you will be met by a UWI Official. See UWI website for more info. Orientation activities are carried out by the University, faculties and students in the week preceding registration week. Campus tours are also organised.
