When are transcripts sent out? The student will need to submit a transcript request form. The international student advisor will assist with this.

Immigration information

Students going to SUNY Cortland have F1 visa status.

Please visit the US Department of State website for more information about the US Visa services, application process and fees.  Read carefully the information about application fees and SEVIS fees, these are your responsibility.

All student applicants must have a SEVIS generated I-20 issued by an educational institution approved by DHS, which they submit when they are applying for their student visa.  This will be sent to accepted students by SUNY Cortland.

Application information

Once you have been nominated by London Metropolitan University you will be given the application packet to complete.

Language Requirement: TOEFL or IELTS with a minimum score of 79 for the Internet based TOEFL and the equivalent for the IELTS for all non-native English speakers

London Met Application Deadline: 1 March

SUNY Application Deadline: 15 April (extended for London Met students)

Arrival and orientation

SUNY Cortland provides free airport transportation for new Exchange students from Syracuse or Ithaca airports to the SUNY Cortland campus, on specified arrival days.

Mandatory orientation which includes campus & community tours, essentials shopping, academic seminars and workshops, local trips & excursions. This takes place in the week before classes

Financial Information

You will be required to submit a financial statement verifying that you have funds available for one academic semester to cover the following estimated costs (see Cortland website for most up to date info):
