With over 500 students from Nigeria London Metropolitan is one of the most popular universities in the UK for Nigerian students and is the first UK university to open an office in Nigeria.

The office, which is located in Victoria Island Lagos, is staffed by Lebari Ukpong, Director, Abigail Offor, Operations Manager, Itunu Britto, Student Counsellor and 'Seun Adeniyi, Administrator. Staff offer guidance and support to students wanting to study at the University. The services include individual support and guidance, general advice sessions, visa counselling and pre-departure briefings.

Qualifications needed and how to apply

All applications must be made via the Nigeria Office unless you are applying for a Bachelors course starting in September (for these courses please contact UCAS www.ucas.ac.uk) To be considered you will need the following qualifications:

For the International Foundation Programme (IFP) you will need at least 5 credit passes (4-6) from the SSCE (WAEC/NECO) including Mathematics and English Language.

For undergraduate study you will need to have passed a recognised foundation course or hold Cambridge A Levels or have successfully completed the first year (100 Level) of an applicable Nigerian degree course or equivalent.

For a postgraduate course you will normally need to have a good second class degree. You can apply before you have completed your studies and would be made a conditional offer, if appropriate.

Visa Counselling Sessions

General visa counselling sessions will be held on the following Wednesdays:

7th May, 11th June, 9th July 2008

These sessions are designed for students holding offer for entry in September 2008. Please note that all LondonMet students are required to attend a personal visa session with Director and Operations Manager of the Nigeria Office. These sessions will be held every Wednesday from May 7th (please call to book).You will need to attend with complete visa application forms and all relevant documents.
