How to use this site

Welcome to the new London Met website.  If you're new to the site this page will give you an introduction on how the site is organised and should give you some pointers on how to find the information you're looking for.

Layout

The new London Met website has a unified and distinct feel with the same navigation links and layout used throughout. However, several departmental websites (many of the Research Institutes, or the Department of Architecture and Spatial Design for example,) have been built by third-party design agencies and may have a very different layout to the main London Met site.  If you have any problems with these individual sites we would ask you to contact the Web Editor for that particular area (you will find an email link on most pages).

Each page on the main London Met site will have a set of global navigation menus near the top of the page.  These will take you directly to some of the most useful pages for prospective students or other visitors who are new to the site. On the right of each page there are local navigation links to other pages within the same subsection as that page.

Brower Advice

This site will work well in any modern standards compliant web browser. It has been tested extensively on Internet Explorer, Mozilla / Firefox, Safari, and Opera on a variety of common operating systems including Windows and OS X.

For best results you should set your display resolution to 800x600 pixels or higher.  A colour depth at least 256 is recommended (the higher the better).  You should enable support for CSS and ECMA Script. Some navigation components require Macromedia's Flash player.

Netscape 4, unfortunately, has very poor standards compliance and for that reason we do not recommend the use of Netscape 4 to view this site.
