The Scholarly Societies Project includes details of Gender Studies societies throughout the world.
There are several directories that identify contemporary women's groups, associations and societies dedicated to the dissemination of information, networking, or the promotion of research. Organisations include government offices, commissions, charities, voluntary bodies, activist and campaigning organisations.
Directories enable the researcher to locate organisations and information centres relevant to their study. Three directories are listed below:
Until late 2011 the Women's National Commission was the official, independent, advisory body giving the views of women to the Government. The WNC maintained a list of women's organisations in the United Kingdom and internationally, the last version of which can be seen in their 'Links' pages in their web archive
Aletta also hosts a directory. Mapping the World of Women's Information Services is an online database in which you can find information on women's information centres and libraries that are open to the public. It currently contains approximately 400 women's information centres from over 140 countries and is updated weekly.
Women in London is a directory of London based women's groups. It also contains current information on conferences, events and organisational activities.
