Genesis supports research into women's history. It consists of:
- A dataset with descriptions of women's history collections from museums, libraries and archives in the United Kingdom and
- A Guide to sources that provides access to a wide range of international web resources on women's history.
Genesis is currently maintained by the staff of The Women's Library at London Metropolitan University. From Spring 2011 the dataset is being developed in collaboration with the Archives Hub. Genesis was originally developed in 2002 with funding from the Research Support Libraries Programme (RSLP).
