Steps to success

Dr Jane Turner's innovative choreography projects on stage and screen

Choreographer and Senior Lecturer Dr Jane Turner has been working on a number of professional projects this year.

Semaphore, directed by Chris Frazer Smith and choreographed by Jane is showing in the Light Moves Festival of screen dance programme in Limerick this autumn as part of their Short Films programme. The screening is on Sunday 6 November.

Another of Jane's projects, A Rare Glimpse, won a Bronze Award in the Joie de Vivre Dance Film Competition and is a collaboration with Levana Assouline who graduated as a fine artist from The Cass in 2016. The project highlights the paradox of our quantum universe – that matter is also energy – with a light touch.
Jane has also recently been working on the innovative theatre project Assisted Suicide: The Musical at the Southbank Centre with actress and disability rights activist Liz Carr and which is now touring.

The Performing Arts area at London Metropolitan University has recently become part of The Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design as part of the University's One Campus One Community initiative.
