Two teams from London Met have finished third in the CIMA Global Business Challenge.

Date: 3 July 2015

Two teams of four BA Accounting and Finance students have thrashed it out in the UK final of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’ Global Business Challenge.

Aneet Hothi, Priya Janda, Anisha Patel and Shelena Chudasama made up team MAAP Consulting, while Shadi Esfahani, Selamwit Seldai, Sonila Jukaj and Sharuk Asab competed as team A1.

To reach the final on Friday 19 June both teams had already seen off competition from over one hundred entries from more than fifty universities from all over the UK.

The CIMA Global Business Challenge is an international business competition for undergraduates from across the world. Teams of four are asked to present a case study to show off their talents in business management and potential as business leaders of the future.

The teams’ efforts were awarded with third place behind teams from the University of Strathclyde and University of Cambridge, who were crowned this year’s UK champions.

It is the third consecutive year a team from London Met have reached the finals.

“I am hugely proud of all the efforts our finalists have put in this year. They have faced some tough competition and to have not one but two teams in the final has been a great achievement.” commented David Trodden, the team’s mentor and a senior lecturer at London Met’s Guildhall School of Business and Law.

“Our success clearly illustrates how the BA Accounting and Finance course at London Met equips students to be the business leaders of tomorrow.”
