Faculty of Life Sciences

The combination of numeracy, research, report writing skills and team work make graduates of the Faculty of Life Sciences very attractive to employers. Many alumni go on to careers in education, health, social work or human resources.

The faculty combines the School of Psychology and the School of Human Sciences. Our £30 million science centre offers unparalleled facilities for teaching and research and the largest open plan laboratory in Europe.

The School of Human Sciences has close links with local hospitals and with the pharmaceutical and food industries. Academic staff run research-based health clinics for the treatment of chronic illnesses such as obesity.

The School of Psychology has been teaching psychology for more than 40 years. The school applies psychology to a wide range of areas including forensic, sport, addiction, counselling and mental health.
