BA Politics
Through the study of Politics at London Metropolitan University, students will be able to gain an understanding of many of the challenges which are facing a rapidly changing world. The Politics course embraces a study of power and security in the state and international systems by providing insights into debates concerning matters of ideology and belief. Most especially, we will track the key factors that are shaping our contemporary society with reference to changes to the post-Cold War international order, the impact of ideological reform on our political institutions and parties, policy initiatives and the impact of globalisation and cultural diversity on democratisation in the new world order.
The Politics courses are taught and administered in the Governance and International Relations section (City Campus) of the Law, Governance and International Relations Department. Members of the academic staff have earned a well-established reputation in both teaching and research with a wide number of publications. In sum, it is our aim to bring together teaching excellence with a provision of topics covering the philosophical, theoretical, institutional and issue-based concerns referring to the various aspects of governance.
