BA International Relations
The BA International Relations degree seeks to help you understand the rapid changes that are occurring in the world today. In the first year you will examine key issues such as terrorism, the environment, poverty, culture, nuclear proliferation, gender, and economic globalisation. In the second and third years you can specialise in areas that interest you, such as Middle East politics, the European Union, ‘Third World’/development issues, religion and international politics, American foreign policy, international history, and international security.
You will also develop the skills to help you find work once you graduate. In your final year you can choose to do a work placement, which provides invaluable professional experience. In recent years students have been placed in the United Nations, European Union, aid agencies, think-tanks, and London embassies. You can also study abroad for a semester in Europe or the United States.
