Research in the subject area of Humanities, Arts, Languages and Education (HALE) encompasses a diverse range of subject areas and methodological approaches, and includes a growing emphasis on practice-based and applied research. HAL offers postgraduate research opportunities, including the MPhil/PhD awards. We maintain close links to several research institutes and centres and staff and research students regularly attend seminars, conferences, and other research events organised by the subject area and by the institutes and centres concerned.
