Welcome to the Centre for Transcultural Research. The centre provides a meeting point for language-related research in:

We are interested in cultural transmissions both within and between dominant and marginal communities and the shaping of (trans)national identities through language.
Current themes are:
- Policy and practice in language, translation and language education
- Postcolonial cultures and gender in comparative literature and translation
- Linguistic and discourse analysis, text, intertext and translation processes
- Language and identity in literature, education, translation and sociolinguistics
- Migration, ethnicities, language and hybridity
- Language/s, society and transcultural processes
- Contrastive and typological issues (valency, focus constructions)
The centre aims to promote innovative and interdisciplinary collaboration between established and new researchers and welcomes links with colleagues who have expertise complementary to CTR's research interests.
